Trying to Reason With Boat Show Season

The annual Wharf Boat and Yacht show is a boat lover and boat-buying paradise due in large part to the more than $100 million of marine inventory that is on display at the iconic venue in Orange Beach.

If hard pressed, I could even pare down the reasons to come to the Wharf Boat and Yacht Show to a mere three hundred! As in the number of center consoles, bay boats, ski boats, and all other trailerable boats that will be on display on land! Full disclosure, that number will likely be even higher as dealers wedge boats on the marina lawn tighter than trailers at the boat ramp on the opening day of red snapper season.

If the old adage that less is indeed more, how about I give you a scant one hundred and twenty reasons to go ahead and buy your Wharf Boat Show ticket online already? Like 120 yachts on display in the water! The Wharf is home to one of the swankiest marinas in the country, and those in water slips will be full of beautiful boats for sale from forty feet all the way up to yachts over ninety feet in length!

Now I know not everyone is in the market for a boat, and that’s OK. But do you like boats? Do you like fishing? Do you like being on the water? Do you like living on or visiting the Gulf Coast? And if you answered the last question with a ‘No’, then you need to provide me with the reason you picked up a magazine called ‘Coastal Lifestyle Magazine’? So for the nonboat-buying crowd, let me give you some reasons why I would still invite you to attend the show in March.

When or where else are you going to take a stroll down a dock, possibly enjoying a glass of champagne, cocktail or cold beer, looking at millions and millions of dollars of spectacular yachts? That Powerball money ain’t going to spend itself!.

Marine electronics, marine accessories, engine and outboard motor manufacturers, and just about anything else you can put on or in your boat will be available to you, along with experts to answer questions and show you the latest in boating technology.

The weekend is also full of free inshore and offshore fishing seminars, including one focused on knot tying. You can learn the uni knot, the Palomar knot, and the Bimini twist all in one sitting. Or, if you want to tie the ultimate knot, you could propose high atop Orange Beach while riding in the Wharf’s Ferris Wheel! Diamonds might be a girl’s best friend, but you know she’s the one if she also loves going to a boat show!

There will also be vendors with products and services focused on enjoying the coastal lifestyle. Plus, it’s a weekend with great food, from tacos to fine dining, and of course, there is so much  hopping to do all along Main Street at The Wharf. This all seems reason enough to make your plans to attend the 2023 Wharf Boat and Yacht Show!
