Established in 1956, Jewelers Trade Shop materialized from Corbett Davis’ vision to deliver fine jewelry alongside an amazing customer experience. Among its elite team is Bobby Ingram, a 21st century certified watchmaker (CW21). With over 30 years of industry experience, Ingram – previously employed with Rolex – brings a high level of expertise to Jewelers Trade Shop. As an authorized Rolex service center, Jewelers Trade Shop follows the same practices in use by Rolex, including vacuum water testing, pressure testing, and heated wet tests to detect moisture leaks on watch cases. “On the sports models that have a depth on the dial, we also test the cases to those depths under pressure. So if a dial from the manufacturer states 4,000 feet, we do a 4,000-foot pressure test on the case before installing the movement. Same for any other case as well. Once the movement is installed in the case, the watch is placed under pressure and vacuum again,” says Ingram of the services.
An exclusive feature of Jewelers Trade Shop is its custom jewelry design service. Jewelers assist in all facets of the design process, be it providing inspiration, creating “from scratch” one-of-a-kind works or repurposing heirloom pieces. Often, the team employs wax and 3-D renderings of custom pieces to ensure fully capturing the customer’s concept.“You can hand carve a wax to show a customer, or you can also have a wax printed with a 3-D printer. It just depends on the direction the customer wants to go, but the wax is a good tool to give the customer a very close rendering of the size and the shape, and pretty much the overall finished product. The printer is just another helpful tool in our arsenal that we have,” Davis III says of their custom work. Additional services offered by Jewelers Trade Shop include while-you-wait repair, in-depth repairs that typically require higher levels of experience, restoration, and appraisals.
“From our custom design to the exclusive brands that we have and everything in between, we are extremely proud. We do a ton of custom work and a ton of restoration and repairs. We offer products and services that no one else does. We have five master jewelers on-site, three GIA graduate gemologists, the most exclusive brands in the world, and a state of the art Rolex service center.
