Crafting Coastal Masterpieces: Ted Foret’s Architectural Showcase On 30A

Ted Foret, owner of New View Windows and Doors in Santa Rosa Beach, is a man of many interests and talents. Recently, he has focused those skills and talents on a strikingly attractive four-level structure located on the eastern end of 30A, right on the water. The facade itself is truly a showcase for Foret’s company which specializes in the very windows and doors that make the home the showcase that it is. The home, which was built in 2022, uses windows and doors constructed to the highest standards. The home’s windows were made by Sierra Pacific, and have the highest safety ratings in the industry. The home also boasts a Eurowall C3 bifold door on the pool level of the home. In addition to providing materials for his own home, Foret’s company supplies these two critical items to builders throughout the Gulf Coast region and beyond. “We collaborate with architects, builders, and homeowners by providing them with years of product expertise as well as significant installation experience,” he notes.

The home itself is a feast for the eyes, indoors and out, with the windows in particular drawing attention. The soaring four-level home is filled with natural light and boasts endless views of sky and water. From the front, or street, side, it is a picture of symmetry, with a single entry door flanked by matching staircases up to the second level. The first level, behind the twin staircases, allows for parking, storage, recreational activities, and more. A soaring canopy with a pendant light is centered over the entire entry area. On the waterfront side of the second level, the pool, accessible from the main level of the home, wraps around and becomes one with the house itself, looking out to the beach and beyond. Indoors and outdoors seem to be the same, with the beach and the surf just steps from the living room.

The interior of the home is filled with cool, neutral colors, lots of white, soft fabrics contrasting with wrought iron accents, and dramatic lighting fixtures. There are no window treatments that might block the natural light, or hide a stormy sky. A white wooden pergola provides dappled shade to the pool seating area, and the nearby deck is anchored by a firepit, and surrounded by cushioned outdoor seating.

Just inside from the pool area is the kitchen, which boasts a sleek polished stone counter topped with a delicate pendant light fixture that mimics the shape and feel of a sail. White upholstered barstools stand tall on dark metal legs and look over the shining white surface toward the oversized cooktop that is flanked by matching windows. The oversized refrigerator is cased with light wood panels, with storage both above and below.

Beyond the kitchen and casual eating area there is a formal dining area with a long table flanked by ten upholstered chairs and lighted by twin chandeliers at either end. The space is flanked by windows on all sides, with a dramatic view of the water. The adjacent living area has a polished round cocktail table top on a black stand, centered on a subtly patterned white rug. Four upholstered chairs with overstuffed pillows complete the cozy yet spacious space.

The primary bedroom and bath almost defy description, with an open shower separated from a deep soaking tub by a marble divider that soars toward but does not reach the high ceiling. The primary bedroom is sleek and minimalist, with recessed bedside tables, a cozy seating area under the windows, and a subtly patterned carpet in neutral tones. The other bedrooms in the home are also sparingly furnished, giving a feel of spaciousness and tranquility throughout the private areas of the home.

Overall, this unique waterfront home makes wonderful use of the setting to enhance the home, and the home itself in turn enhances its surroundings.
