Don’t give cryofacials the cold shoulder. These anti-aging therapies are noninvasive and provide a noticeable decrease in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet.

The various anti-aging facial treatments, regimens, and routines on the market run the gamut with respect to process, price, and results. While they typically work to counter the effects of time, anti-aging facials usually treat only what’s already present on and below the skin’s surface and come with a laundry list of chemicals in addition to requiring a firm commitment to skincare and regular treatments to maintain long-term results. And facials are not a one-size-fits-all process; skin sensitivity, allergies, and even pain threshold issues can impact selection and results.
While not entirely new to the beauty scene, cryotherapy facials are often misunderstood and overlooked as a longer-term, noninvasive treatment. During the cryofacial process, vaporized liquid nitrogen is applied to the face to hyper-cool the skin. The frigid air forces the body to respond by increasing collagen production. The rapid production and strengthening of collagen fibers trigger anti-aging results.
A Cryo T-Shock facial, however, takes the cryotherapeutic treatment to the next level.
While a standard cryofacial effectively counters the signs of aging, a Cryo T-Shock facial incorporates a thermal heat component. The alternating between heat and cold causes dilation and constriction of the blood vessels, which activates immune cells and helps remove harmful bacteria for a deeper cleanse. Additionally, Cryo T-Shock facials freeze fat deposits under the chin and neck, ultimately killing off the fat cells to create a leaner, firmer appearance.
Like chemical-based facials, Cryo T-Shock facials deliver immediate results that leave the skin dewy and supple, but with the added benefit of augmenting the production of collagen fibers. After four to eight treatments, there’s a noticeable decrease in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and crow’s feet.
The mixture of cold and heat during a Cryo T-Shock facial also helps shrink large pores, remove trapped toxins, and encourage blood circulation. The treatment is suitable for men and women with rosacea, eczema, acne, and general skin sensitivity. Tara Santosuosso, who owns Chill Cryotherapy in downtown Pensacola, says that a good 30% of her Cryo T-Shock clientele is male, but insists that all of her clients share a common goal, which is to look better and feel better about themselves without undergoing invasive procedures.
When selecting a cryofacial provider, it’s important to look for someone who will build a customized package around you, your skin type, and your goals. “As with overall health, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to Cryo T-Shock facials,” says Tara. “We work to build relationships with our clients and help them build reasonable treatment plans based on their budget and desired outcome.” Unlike invasive procedures, Cryo T-Shock facials help restore a naturally youthful appearance because they work with your body to stimulate collagen production without the use of harsh chemicals or the consumption of special elixirs.
Beyond an improved appearance, there are health and wellness aspects to excellent skincare. “When we look our best, we often feel our best,” says Tara. “Looking great and feeling great are both confidence boosters.”
The Cryo T-Shock machine is used for both face and body treatments. It incorporates hot and cold to manipulate hard fat into soft fat, making it easier for the body to eliminate adipose (fat) cells while helping to firm loose and sagging skin and ridding cellulite from target areas.
When visiting Chill Cryotherapy, the first thing clients can expect is a professional consultation. During this time, Tara or a staff member will help the client build a treatment solution that balances expectations with safety. “People don’t always realize that the body needs to process and eliminate the waste when stimulating collagen production and freezing fat cells,” says Tara. “Back-to-back sessions don’t allow the liver to process and rid the body of this waste properly and can create long-term health problems. I help my clients understand the body’s response to Cryo T-Shock facial therapy and build customized plans that balance safety with results.”
Tara and her team at Chill Cryotherapy are highly trained professionals who work closely with local physical therapy specialists from the Andrews Institute and youth and adult athletes alike. In addition to localized Cryo T-Shock facial therapy, they also offer LED facials, localized cryotherapy sessions, and full-body cryotherapy services.
