Jill’s path to opening Beach Girl at Home reflects a return to her roots. Raised in Montgomery, Alabama, she graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in journalism. After spending 30 years in New York City, where she raised her children and nurtured her passion for design, Jill returned to the Gulf Coast. She brought her love of creativity and color to Gulf Shores, where she opened Beach Girl At Home and its Signature Store, one door down from the main showroom. Jill blends Southern hospitality with her New York-inspired creativity, creating a shopping experience that is uniquely coastal and full of life.
Since its opening in March 2023, Beach Girl at Home has attracted visitors with carefully curated collections that embody the store’s lifestyle brand of Beach, Home, Boat, Style, and Local Art. Yet, what truly distinguishes the boutique is its bold and thoughtful use of color. Jill believes that color isn’t just decorative—it has the power to transform a space, evoke emotions, and create an atmosphere.
“We wanted to bring color and creativity back into shopping,” Jill explains. “People are naturally drawn to color—it’s in nature and part of who we are. It speaks to our spirits and never goes out of style.” Whether it’s the soothing blues and greens of the sea or the bright yellows and pinks that spark joy, Beach Girl at Home celebrates color in all its forms.

Her goal is to create a shopping environment that inspires customers to embrace color and bring that vibrant energy into their homes and lives. Beach Girl at Home is more than a retail space—it’s an immersive experience. The store’s lively layout encourages customers to explore, with displays carefully arranged to inspire creativity and joy. From whimsical setups to layered textures, Jill and her team pay attention to every detail, helping customers imagine how color and design can enhance their own spaces.
Adding to the ambiance is a baby grand player piano that softly plays in the background, creating a soothing and elegant atmosphere. “We want our customers to feel like they’ve found something truly special,” says Jill. “Whether it’s a statement piece for their home or a unique accessory, we want them to leave feeling inspired and energized.”
One door down from Beach Girl At Home's main showroom is the Beach Girl At Home Signature Store, which features seasonal collections and the Sago Art Gallery. The gallery highlights the work of over 50 Gulf Coast artists, giving visitors the chance to discover one-of-a-kind artwork.
Jill’s commitment to supporting local artists is a cornerstone of her business. “The local art scene here is incredible,” she says. “Our gallery gives these talented artists a platform to share their work, while offering our customers something truly special to take home—something that adds character and meaning to their spaces.”
Looking Ahead: Expanding the Vision of Creativity As Jill looks toward the future, she is excited about expanding Beach Girl at Home. In 2025, she plans to launch an exclusive capsule collection of in-house designed products. This collection will reflect the bold, creative spirit of the store and offer customers something unique that can’t be found elsewhere.
“We want to create products that reflect the essence of Beach Girl at Home—vibrant, creative, and truly one-of-a-kind,” Jill says.
