Luna Fine Art Gallery | Wonder No More, by Sally Miller

Located inside the Pensacola Beach Hilton, Luna Fine Art Gallery features unique pieces created by local and regional artists. Through the well-trained eyes of Gallery Directors Lisa Puzon and Shaughnessy Johnson, artists are selected to feature their work through rotating exhibits on display in the hotel lobby. Julian and Kim MacQueen, owners of the Hilton and Innisfree Hotels portfolio, founded Luna Fine Art Gallery to share their love of the arts and the local community. Luna is a pillar to Innisfree Hotels’ corporate social responsibility program, The Hive, where the goal is to promote culture by inspiring and connecting people within the community.

Through Luna’s commitment to supporting the local art community and its regional artists, the Gallery showcases several exhibits per year. Beginning in October, a new exhibit will commence featuring works from painters, Jennifer Fleming and Sally Miller. “We look for artists who have a special message to express through their art. After reviewing images taken from a studio visit two years ago, we selected the artists for this exhibit. Certain pieces from their bodies of work caught our eye for their uniqueness. We knew that whatever else they had since created would also be incredible,” stated Lisa Puzon. She adds, “We look for artists who express their authentic selves through their art.”

Artist Jennifer Flemming

Artist Jennifer Fleming studied at Arrowmont and Penland schools where she learned shibori, the form of silk dying, and non-objective acrylic painting. During this time, she found her love of collage-style pieces. “Artists have countless ways to express feeling through color, texture, layering, and adding dimensional objects,” states Jennifer. She adds, “In my paintings and collages, the work usually emerges from the canvas or paper in ways that surprise me. Many times, I do not have a firm idea of what I want to paint when I make the first mark or lay down the first brushstroke of paint. Lines start to create a pattern of flow and then value, and color combine to create energy on the surface.”

Artist Sally Miller

Sally Miller, an award-winning artist and Pensacola native, has been featured in several local exhibits, including the Pensacola Museum of Art – Art Educators’ Exhibit. Sally is an Art Educator at a local elementary school and instructed for ten years at The University of West Florida. Sally says, “Painting is exploration time that has been a lifelong experiment. I often incorporate symbolism in my paintings, which form their beginnings from travels and experiences.” She adds, “Each painting is a journey that constantly changes and keeps me guessing about the outcome, leaving the viewers to interpret through their own eyes.”

Luna Fine Art Gallery will host the opening event for their new exhibit featuring Jennifer Flemming and Sally Miller between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on October 25th where all of the work displayed will be available for sale. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Dixon School of Arts & Sciences in support of its art department. The art exhibit ends on February 21. Additional information about the exhibit and the artists is available on the Luna Fine Art Gallery website.
