Growing up in a small town in Indiana, Cindy Myers was surrounded by beautiful Victorian houses with amazing architectural details. While walking home one day when she was ten, she found these sweet colored little bottles nestled away in the snow. She couldn't resist these discarded beauties. Little did she know those colored little bottles would influence her great love for all things old with details she still can not resists. "Shabby Chic Interiors is a combination of my love for fashion and 1800's architectural salvage. I begin with architectural finds and turn them into coastal chic pieces," said Cindy
Having a one of a kind piece in your home sets the tone for that authentic coastal lifestyle that comes from living on the gulf coast.
This amazing bed stands nine and a half feet tall and is made from architectural salvage found in a 1882 home in Indiana. It reflects the beauty from the porch posts to the 120 year old hemlock the house was framed in.
Another of my original designs, this bed is made from chipped painted wood from a late 1890's house. Each board is selected to combine both elegance and warmth that only authentic salvage can achieve. Custom pieces can vary in both color and patina due to the age of the wood.
"One of my favorite beds," states Cindy. The color of the individual boards set the tone for this one of a kind coastal chic bed. The chipped paint just can not be duplicated!
Duvets are a must in the bedroom. These hand frayed coastal sea life linens will set your beach home apart from the rest. Cindy combines both colors and sea life to give each bed a personal touch. Whether it is subtle or a vibrant coral or aqua, it will give your coastal bed that perfect chic look.
The depth of beauty in this bed made from 1890's architectural salvage can only be appreciated when you see it in person. The patina of chippy paint can only be achieved with over a hundred years of weather and time. After each piece is cleaned and sealed, you are left with the perfect bed for that chic coastal experience.
Mantles add beauty to any room and this 1890's hand carved mantle combines architectural relief and warmth beyond it's years. There isn't a day that goes by that Cindy does not pass this incredible piece and think to herself, they just don't make things like this any more. It will most definitely be a conversation piece in one lucky person's home.
Chairs, sofas, gliders, or dining chairs can be updated with slip covers to provide ease of care. They can be ordered from hundreds of different fabrics to fit anyone's lifestyle.
Cindy feels that her master carpenter is truly one of the best she has had the pleasure to work with. His eye for both detail and working with hundred year old wood results in unique one of a kind pieces.
